The old library exhaled dust as Corey stepped inside, drawn by the whispers in the walls. Shadows stretched unnaturally, flickering like the dying flame of a candle. His fingers brushed the spine of a book; it groaned open to reveal pages of pulsating skin. Eyes blinked from the margins, their gaze hungry. The whispers crescendoed, chanting his name. Corey stumbled back, only to find the door gone, replaced by a wall of bookshelves closing in. The room constricted, pages flapping like wings, drowning him in a sea of ink. His screams inked a new chapter, one of eternal despair.
