Video - Starbucks Strikes: Baristas Unite for Better Rights!
And what about Starbucks, the coffee shop chain facing strikes in various American cities? Check this out! Baristas organized by the union Starbucks Workers United have launched a five-day strike in Los Angeles, Chicago, and Seattle. They are demanding better wages, improved working conditions, and a say in decisions that affect their daily routines. Starbucks claims these demands are unsustainable. Unionization there works on a store-by-store basis, unlike in Brazil, where it’s regional. Out of 9,000 stores, the first to unionize was in Buffalo. Things have been tense since then! So far, over 8,900 baristas from 400 stores have also unionized! This shows that workers are increasingly standing up for their rights across all sectors. What’s your take on this strike?
