Deep in the forest stood the biggest apple tree anyone had ever seen. One morning, Ricky Raccoon climbed the tree and gasped. Bright red apples covered every branch. “All these apples are mine!” Ricky shouted happily. He gathered every single apple and carried them to his treehouse. The other animals looked disappointed as they walked away quietly. At first, Ricky felt proud. But after a while, the apples started piling up everywhere. Some rolled across the floor, some fell down the stairs, and some even bounced onto his bed. Ricky sat alone, surrounded by apples, and suddenly realized something important. Apples were much better when shared with friends. So Ricky carried baskets of apples all around the forest. He gave apples to the rabbits, the turtles, the birds, and even the little mice.
