Penny Penguin lived in a snowy village beside the icy sea. Every morning, the young penguins jumped happily into the freezing water and swam together. But Penny stayed quietly on the shore. She had never learned how to swim, and she was too scared to try. “What if I sink?” she whispered nervously. One day, a tiny seal became trapped between floating pieces of ice. The other penguins were too far away to help. Penny’s heart raced. Even though she was afraid, she slowly stepped into the cold water. She paddled carefully with her tiny flippers and pushed the ice apart little by little. Soon, the baby seal was safe again. The other penguins cheered loudly. “You were so brave!” they shouted. Penny smiled proudly. She realized she had been stronger than her fear all along. And from that day forward, Penny never watched from the shore again.
