Video - Heavenly Regrets: The Monkeys' Lesson

Three monkeys die and arrive in heaven. St. Peter asks them about their sins. The first monkey says, "I was obsessed with food. I ate so much that I ended up dying from health problems." The second monkey says, "I was addicted to gambling. I couldn’t stop betting and lost everything in my life." The third monkey, with a regretful look, says, "I smoked too much. I couldn’t quit, and it ruined my life." After hearing them, St. Peter says, "Now, for your sins, you’ll each have a chance to reflect." Each will be locked up for a thousand years with the thing that led them to sin the most. St. Peter takes the first monkey to a room full of the most delicious foods. The second monkey is taken to a room filled with games and piles of betting chips. Finally, the third monkey is led to a room packed with cigarettes. St. Peter declares, "A thousand years for you all, and I hope you learn something." A thousand years pass, and St. Peter visits each room. He opens the first door and finds the first monkey enormous, surrounded by food scraps. St. Peter says, "Another thousand years." Then, he opens the second door and finds the second monkey frantically gambling. "Another thousand years," St. Peter says angrily. When he reaches the third room, St. Peter opens the door and finds the third monkey sitting in the corner, looking sad and surrounded by untouched cigarettes. Curious, St. Peter asks, "What happened to you?" The monkey replies, "St. Peter, you forgot the matches."
